Welcome From the Program Director

As Director of the Pediatric Residency Training Program, it is my pleasure to welcome you to The Lewis M. Fraad Department of Pediatrics of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I am confident that after exploring this website you will discover why we consider our program so special. All members of our staff work together to create a unique, caring environment, which fosters the acquisition of the expertise needed to be a successful Pediatrician. As you will see, our faculty have a wide range of skills and interests and they are committed to preparing you for a career in general pediatrics, research, sub-specialty care, or child advocacy.

Virtually all of your training will occur on the campuses of the Jacobi Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. These facilities are extensive, and include Jacobi Hospital and the Jacobi Ambulatory Care Pavilion. In addition, as a result of our remarkably diverse patient population, you will have the opportunity to care for children from many different backgrounds and learn how to deliver culturally sensitive care.

Our most important asset is our housestaff. Together, they share the work, as well as the satisfaction and joy that are part of being a Pediatric resident. I am most proud of how they cooperate as a team, caring about each other.

The Department of Pediatrics is dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and research. At the same time, the Department is also committed to providing a collegial and supportive environment in which residents thrive. If I can be of any assistance, today or in the future, please contact me. I look forward to meeting you.
